Aston -domek przy lesie, przestronny, apartamenty
So I stumbled upon this place – Aston, though honestly the full name is a bit of a mouthful with all the Polish – while looking for somewhere quiet to stay in Karpacz, and wow, I’m so glad I didn’t just book one of those generic mountain hotels instead. It’s tucked away on Kasprowicza Street, which is actually perfect because you’re close enough to walk into town but far enough that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling back from the bars at 2am.
The apartment itself is genuinely spacious – and I mean actually spacious, not that “cozy” nonsense where you can barely open your suitcase. Being on the ground floor was initially a concern (I usually prefer upper floors for privacy), but honestly, it works here because there’s this lovely little garden area and you can step right outside without dealing with stairs when you’re loaded down with hiking gear. The forest proximity isn’t just marketing speak either – you literally walk out the back and you’re among the trees, which is incredible if you’re an early riser like me. I’d head out around 6:30am and have the trails pretty much to myself, then come back to make coffee and plan the day.
What really struck me was how well thought out everything is inside. The kitchen actually has proper knives and decent cookware – you know how rare that is in vacation rentals. There’s enough space to spread out all your maps and guidebooks without feeling cramped, and the wifi was solid enough that I could video call home without any awkward freezing moments. The whole setup feels like someone who actually travels designed it, rather than just threw together whatever furniture was cheapest. I mean, there are little touches like good lighting for reading and enough outlets near the bed for all your devices. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s one of those places where everything just… works.
The location is honestly brilliant if you want to explore the Karkonosze mountains properly. You’re walking distance from the main Karpacz attractions, but when tour buses start rolling in around 10am, you can retreat to your quiet corner and feel like you’ve escaped. I’d come back from day hikes to Śnieżka or the waterfalls, grab a beer from the local shop (there’s a decent one about five minutes walk away), and just decompress on the little terrace area. Parking was never an issue either, which is actually a big deal in this area during peak season – I watched people circling the main town center for twenty minutes looking for spots while I was already back home, so to speak.
The only tiny thing I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs absolute silence to sleep, the forest can be surprisingly lively at night – not in a bad way, just lots of rustling and the occasional owl. But honestly, I found it quite soothing after a few nights. This place has that rare quality where it exceeds expectations rather than just meeting them, and in a tourist area like Karpacz, that’s pretty special. If you’re looking for a proper base for exploring the mountains without the hotel crowd nonsense, this is your spot.
