The location is absolutely perfect if you’re serious about exploring the High Tatras – I mean, you’re literally in Štrbské Pleso, which honestly feels like Slovakia’s answer to those fancy Swiss alpine towns, except without the eye-watering prices. The apartmány sits right on Lúčna street, and while that might not mean much to you now, it’s actually this quiet residential stretch where you can walk to the lake in maybe three minutes, but you’re far enough from the main tourist chaos that you’ll actually sleep well.

The apartments themselves are way more spacious than I expected – I’d stayed in other “4-star” places in the Tatras that felt cramped, but these guys actually understand that people come here for more than just sleeping. The kitchens are properly equipped (not just a mini-fridge and a prayer), which is clutch because eating out every meal in Štrbské Pleso gets expensive fast. I actually cooked dinner a few nights and sat on the balcony watching people walk their dogs along the lake path – there’s something really peaceful about that evening routine up there. The WiFi works great too, which… look, I know we’re supposed to disconnect in nature, but sometimes you need to upload those sunrise photos from Skok Waterfall, right?

When I mentioned wanting to hit some of the less touristy hiking trails, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic map – he actually marked out this route to Jamské Pleso that I never would’ve found otherwise. And parking? Total non-issue, which if you’ve ever tried to find a spot near the lake during peak season, you know that’s basically a miracle. The whole setup just feels like it’s run by people who actually live here and get what travelers need, rather than some corporate chain that treats every property the same. Honestly, with a 9/10 rating, I was expecting to find some catch – maybe it’d be overpriced or the location would be weird – but it really does live up to the hype. If you’re planning to spend a few days properly exploring the High Tatras instead of just doing the standard day-trip tourist thing, this is exactly the kind of base camp you want.
