You’re on this quiet residential street that’s maybe a 12-minute walk to Krupówki – close enough that you can stumble back after too much oscypek and beer, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos outside your window at 2 AM. The building itself is pretty typical for the area, nothing fancy, but it’s got that solid, no-nonsense Polish mountain town vibe. What really got me was how the owner (I think his name was Marek?) actually remembered me on my second visit and asked about my hiking plans. You know what I mean – that kind of personal touch you don’t expect from most places these days.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly well-thought-out. I stayed in what I think was a two-room setup, and honestly, whoever designed the kitchen space actually cooks – there’s proper counter space and decent knives, not those sad plastic things you usually get. The shower pressure was solid (trust me, this matters after climbing Giewont), and the heating worked perfectly, which is crucial if you’re visiting in shoulder season like I do. The Wi-Fi was reliable enough for video calls, though I’ll admit I spent most of my time outside anyway. One thing that impressed me – the beds are actually comfortable, not those rock-hard mattresses that seem standard in mountain accommodations. My back didn’t hate me in the morning, which at my age is a genuine selling point.

What really sets this place apart though is how it feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel. The check-in was relaxed, no rushing around with key cards and formal procedures. There’s parking right there, which if you’ve ever tried to find a spot near Krupówki in summer, you’ll appreciate. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after evening, just the occasional sound of people heading home from dinner – actually quite soothing after busy hiking days. I also loved that you could grab groceries at the little shop around the corner and cook breakfast instead of overpaying at tourist restaurants every morning.

Is it luxury? Definitely not. Will you get perfectly crisp hotel sheets changed daily? Nope. But if you want a clean, comfortable base for exploring the Tatras without breaking the bank, and you appreciate staying somewhere that feels authentic rather than corporate, this place delivers. The 8-point rating feels about right – it’s solid, reliable, and run by people who actually care about their guests having a good experience. I’d book it again without hesitation.
