The building itself is pretty unassuming, sort of tucked into this quiet residential stretch in Nová Lesná, but that’s actually part of what makes it work. You’re not dealing with tour buses or crowds stumbling back from bars at 2 AM – it’s just… peaceful, you know?

What really got me was how the staff clearly gives a damn about the place. Check-in was smooth (they actually remembered I’d mentioned arriving late when I booked), and the apartment itself was spotless in that way that tells you someone takes pride in their work. The kitchen had everything I needed – not just the bare minimum like some places – and the bed was genuinely comfortable, which honestly can be hit-or-miss in this price range. The view from my window looked out toward the Tatras, and while it’s not some dramatic panoramic vista, there’s something really satisfying about waking up to those mountains just sitting there in the distance. The Wi-Fi actually worked well too, which matters more than it should when you’re trying to plan your next day’s hiking routes.

Here’s the thing about staying in Nová Lesná – you’re about a 10-minute drive from all the Vysoké Tatry action, but without the inflated prices and summer chaos of staying right in the heart of it. I could walk to a decent grocery store in the morning, grab some local bread and cheese, then be on a trail by 9 AM. Parking was never an issue, which anyone who’s tried to find a spot in Tatranská Lomnica during peak season will appreciate. The whole area has this lived-in feel – you’ll see locals walking their dogs, kids riding bikes, normal life happening around you instead of just endless streams of tourists. That 9-rating honestly makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point. It’s not luxury, but it’s thoughtful and well-maintained, and sometimes that matters more than fancy amenities you’ll never use anyway.
