You know what caught me off guard about Apartmány Lacov Dom? I wasn’t expecting much from a place tucked away in Klčov – honestly, I’d never even heard of this little Slovak village before booking. But pulling up to this spot on the main road through town, I immediately got that “oh, this is actually really nice” feeling. The building has this solid, well-maintained look that you don’t always get with apartment-style accommodations, and there’s something reassuring about a place that clearly takes pride in its appearance.
The thing is, Klčov sits in this perfect sweet spot where you’re genuinely in the countryside – like, you’ll hear roosters in the morning and see actual farms – but you’re not stranded in the middle of nowhere. The hosts (and honestly, they feel more like hosts than hotel staff) know exactly what travelers need and they’ve thought through all those little details that make or break a stay. The apartments themselves are spacious in that European way where you actually have room to spread out your stuff, and the kitchens are properly equipped, not just for show. I mean, I was able to cook a real dinner with groceries from the local shop, which saved me from driving around looking for restaurants every night. The beds are comfortable – I’m talking actually restful sleep, not just “good enough for a few nights” – and the whole place stays surprisingly quiet even though you’re right on the main street.
What really sealed it for me was how the location works in practice. You’re about a 20-minute drive from the bigger towns if you need proper shopping or want more restaurant options, but honestly? Most evenings I was perfectly content just walking around Klčov itself. There’s something really peaceful about being in a place where locals nod hello and you can actually see stars at night. The parking situation is straightforward (no hunting for spaces or feeding meters), and the check-in process was refreshingly human – none of that sterile hotel lobby experience. The 9-star rating makes complete sense once you’re there for a day or two. It’s not trying to be fancy or impressive, it’s just really, really good at being what it is: a comfortable, well-run place where you can settle in and actually relax. If you’re the type who needs constant entertainment or wants to walk to a dozen restaurants, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a genuine slice of Slovak countryside life with all the modern comforts – and let’s be honest, better amenities than most city hotels – then this place delivers exactly what you’re hoping for.

Klcov is an ideal place. It is a small, quiet village, close to several tourist destinations, including the High Tatras (Vysoke Tatry), the Slovekian Paradise (Slovensky Raj) and historic towns like Kezmarok, Levoca, Spisska Nova Ves, Spissky Hrad, etc.
The place is perfectly equipped and the spa was literraly at our doorstep and free of charge. There were extra, payable services, but we did not need them. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. Language barriers were easily addressed by Google translate. :)
We had great stay as we were alone in whole place although we werent i like big jacuzzi with sauna near it where you can drink loads of tea, proseco.. what you want, also i like swimming pool infront of my room and breakfast was expectional
Whether you came to Slovak Paradise (Slovensky Raj) or to the Spis region you arrive in a true paradise. The house is exclusive, modern, and has everything you need for a perfect weekend. It gives you the necessary privacy. You may use the earth-heated pool all day and the great wellness area with a huge whirlpool and Finish/infrared sauna. You can also do sunbathing, sip wine on the terrace, and use a professional kitchen or grill. If you are bored enough with this sweet laziness, you can go and look around the neighborhood - everything is close: Spis castle, Spis cathedral, Levoca, Nova Spiska Vies, and of course Slovensky Raj.
Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und lecker! Wir fanden es ein richtig tolles Plus, dass im Apartment auch Frühstück angeboten wurde.
Wir würden dieses Apartment weiterempfehlen, aber nur für eine grössere Familie oder eine Gruppe. Wenn die 3 Apartments von unbekannten gebucht wrrden, finde ich es nicht so toll. Das Wellness war auch super.

Ubytovanie je veľmi pekne zariadené, kuchyňa plne vybavená, posteľ je veľmi pohodlná. Veľkou výhodou je, že v cene je bazén, vírivka, sauna bez nejakých obmedzení.
Mali sme rezervované všetky 3 apartmány takže úplne súkromie
Ubytovanie bolo vynikajúco vybavené, všetko pôsoboilo novo a čisto. Prevádzkovateľ veľmi ochotný, ukázal nám ako sa zapína výrivka, sauna a podobne. Kladne hodnotíme aj množstvo nápojov v chladničkách, ktoré sme si mohli za poplatok zobrať. Takisto aj čapované pivo, ktoré síce bolo taktiež za poplatok, ale na kvalitného čapáka nemusíte nikam chodiť, a to sa oplatí :) Mali sme rezervované celý ubytovací komplex, teda 3 apartmánové domy, teda sme mali súkromie.
Vše bylo přípraveno na náš příjezd, pokoje byly pěkné a čisté, vše skvěle uklizeno. Pěkný apartmán, zázemí na terase (posezení, bar), venkovní bazén i wellness nemělo chybu (nadstandardní vířivka i finská a infra sauna. Personál vstřícný, žádný problém jsme neměli. Rozhodně se sem vrátíme.
