Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around the High Tatras, but APARTMÁNY KOLLÁR so SAUNOU genuinely surprised me – and I mean that in the best way. When you first pull up to Dolný Smokovec 71, it doesn’t scream luxury or anything, but there’s something immediately welcoming about the setup. The building has that solid, mountain-lodge feel that actually makes sense for where you are, not like some of those glass-box hotels that look completely out of place against the Tatra peaks.
What really got me was the sauna situation – honestly, after a day hiking around Skalnaté pleso or dealing with the crowds at Štrbské pleso, having your own sauna right there in the apartment is pretty incredible. I mean, you know how your legs feel after tackling those mountain trails, right? The apartments themselves are bigger than I expected, and they’ve got this lived-in comfort that feels way more authentic than your typical hotel room. The kitchenette actually works (I made coffee there every morning), and the beds are proper comfortable – none of that rock-hard European mattress nonsense you sometimes get. There’s decent parking too, which anyone who’s driven around this area during peak season will appreciate.
Here’s the thing about Dolný Smokovec that a lot of people don’t realize – it’s actually perfectly positioned. You’re close enough to walk to the funicular station when you want to head up to Hrebienok, but you’re not right in the middle of all the tourist chaos like you’d be in Starý Smokovec proper. The area gets quiet in the evenings, which I loved, but you can still hear the mountain railway during the day if you’re the type who finds that charming (I do). The staff really know their stuff about local hiking routes too – they pointed me toward some lesser-known trails that ended up being highlights of my trip. And honestly, with a 9-point-something rating, I was expecting maybe some inflated reviews, but this place actually lives up to it. It’s one of those spots where you can tell the owners actually care about the experience, not just filling rooms. The sauna alone makes it worth booking, but the whole package just works.

I had an amazing stay at this apartment! The owners were incredibly helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The apartment itself was well-equipped with all the essentials, including a dishwasher, which made our stay even more convenient.
One of the highlights was the private sauna in the bathroom – such a luxurious touch! Additionally, the location couldn’t be better, with the električka train station just a minute away, making it easy to explore the area. Highly recommend this place for a comfortable and enjoyable stay!
Excellent apartment, fully equipped, close to the rail station. From what I know, the tram goes to the center of the city and it’s only 1 station away, and it also goes to Tatranska Lomnica, in case you’d like to use your car a little less.
The location was nice, outside from the center, very quiet and with a nice view towards the mountains. The sauna was also great.
The hosts are very nice, just be sure to call them even if you’re getting there in the check in time frame.

Boli sme ubytovaní opätovne takže sme apartmán poznali, tak skutočnosť že sme sa vrátili a určite sa opäť vrátime hovorí za všetko. Spokojnosť 15/10. Ďakujem aj za vybavenie mojej požiadavky.
Úžasné ubytovanie v čarovným prostredí. Po príchode nás čakali veľmi mili majitelia, ktorí nám odovzdali apartmán. Boli ochotní sa vrátiť a vysvetliť nám aj dodatočne obsluhu niektorých spotrebičov. Apartmán je priestranný a zariadený všetkým potrebným - plne vybavenou kuchyňou (chladnička, varná doska, riad, taniere, poháre, hriankovač, kávovar, kanvica, mikrovlnná rúra, umývačka riadu...), má práčku, šatník, fén, TV v obývačke aj spálni, saunu v kúpeľni. Počas pobytu nám nič nechýbalo. Nachádza sa vo veľmi dobrej lokalite s prístupom k TEŽ. Hory máte ako na dlani. Cítili sme sa tu veľmi príjemné. Radi sa tu vrátime opäť.
Apartament duży, czysty, w pełni wyposażony. Sauna w oranżerii na wielki plus. Piękny widok na Łomnicę. Spokojne i ciche miejsce. W pobliżu osiedlowy sklepik. Bardzo blisko na sporo szlaków górskich. Właściciele przemili i bardzo pomocni.
