You know what struck me first about Apartamenty u Zosi? It’s tucked away on Nad Łomnica street in this quiet residential pocket of Karpacz that most tourists completely miss – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. I mean, you’re still close enough to hear the cable car running up to Śnieżka on busy days, but the street itself has this peaceful, almost sleepy vibe that’s pretty rare in a mountain town that gets as packed as Karpacz does during ski season and summer hiking months.
The apartment itself feels like staying at someone’s well-appointed mountain retreat rather than a typical rental. Zosi (or whoever’s running the place) clearly gets what travelers actually need – there’s proper kitchen equipment that works, not those sad little coffee makers and two plates you usually get. The windows face toward the Karkonosze foothills, and if you’re up early enough (which, let’s be honest, mountain air tends to make you), you’ll catch this gorgeous morning light hitting the peaks that makes you understand why people keep coming back to this part of Poland. What really impressed me was the attention to small stuff: thick curtains that actually block light for sleeping in, decent water pressure in the shower, and – this might sound silly – but proper hangers in the closet instead of those wire things that collapse if you look at them wrong.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Karpacz without feeling like you’re camping in the middle of a tourist circus. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from the main drag where all the restaurants and souvenir shops cluster around, but Nad Łomnica feels residential and calm. There’s parking right there (which, trust me, matters a lot when you’re hauling hiking gear or trying to navigate those narrow mountain roads), and it’s actually easier to get to some of the better trailheads from this side of town. I particularly loved that you could walk to the Wang Church – that incredible wooden Norwegian stave church they moved here piece by piece – without dealing with the crowds that bus in from the center. The 9.2 rating makes total sense when you stay here; it’s not flashy or trying to impress you with fancy amenities, but everything just works the way it should, and the whole experience feels thoughtful rather than thrown together. If you’re the type who appreciates staying somewhere that feels authentic to the place rather than generic, you’ll probably love it here as much as I did.
