Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Apartamenty Toporowa Cyrhla on ul. Cyrhla – I mean, it’s tucked away on this quiet residential street that you’d probably miss if you weren’t looking for it. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made it perfect. The building itself is pretty straightforward, nothing fancy, but there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to oversell itself with flashy lobbies and marble everything.

What actually impressed me was how the owners seem to get what travelers to Zakopane really need. The apartments are surprisingly spacious – like, actually spacious, not that “cozy” nonsense that usually means you can’t open your suitcase. The kitchens are properly equipped too, which is clutch when you’ve been hiking all day and just want to grab some oscypek and bread from the local market instead of hunting for a restaurant. And here’s the thing about the location that took me a day to figure out – you’re close enough to walk to the main Krupówki strip (maybe 10-15 minutes), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos and late-night noise. I could actually sleep with the windows open, which in Zakopane’s center is basically impossible during peak season.

The building sits in this neighborhood where you’ll see more locals than tourists, which honestly gave me a better feel for the town. There’s a little grocery store just around the corner, and the bus stops nearby if you’re planning to hit the cable cars or venture out to the lakes. Parking was straightforward too – none of that circling-the-block-for-an-hour drama you get closer to the center. The whole setup just works without any fuss, and after dealing with overly complicated hotel check-ins and key card systems that never work, there was something really nice about the simplicity here. It’s the kind of place where you can actually settle in for a few days and feel like you’re living somewhere rather than just passing through, which is exactly what I wanted from a Zakopane stay.
