So I stumbled across Apartamenty Sun & Snow Leśny Dom during a trip to Karpacz last winter, and honestly? It completely changed my perspective on what apartment-style stays could be like in the Sudetes. The place sits on Przemysłowa street – which sounds industrial but actually puts you in this perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk into town but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowd noise from the main tourist strip. You know what really got me? The moment I walked in, it felt less like a hotel and more like staying at a friend’s mountain cabin who actually has their act together.
The apartments themselves are properly spacious – I mean, after cramming into those tiny mountain pensions you usually find around here, having room to actually spread out your gear was refreshing. Each unit has this sort of modern-meets-rustic thing going on that could’ve been cheesy but somehow works. The kitchens are actually functional (not just for show), which saved me a fortune since eating out in Karpacz every meal can get pricey fast. What really impressed me was the attention to small details – decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, proper blackout curtains for those summer mornings when the sun’s up at 5 AM, and honestly some of the most comfortable beds I’ve encountered in this part of Poland. The bathrooms are modern without being sterile, and the water pressure is excellent (something you definitely can’t take for granted in mountain accommodations).
Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned for both winter and summer activities. The ski lifts are close enough that you’re not doing that exhausting trek with all your equipment, but if you’re here for hiking like I was in summer, the trailheads to Śnieżka and the other peaks are easily accessible. Parking was straightforward – no circling around looking for spots like you get closer to the center. The staff actually seems to know the area well; they pointed me toward this lesser-known trail that turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. Check-in was smooth, none of that awkward waiting around while they figure out your reservation. With an 8.5 rating, you’d expect it to be solid, but what surprised me was how it manages to feel both professional and genuinely welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you’d be comfortable staying whether you’re planning active mountain days or just want to decompress somewhere that doesn’t feel like every other cookie-cutter mountain resort.
