You know what struck me first about Sun & Snow Karpacz Deptak? It’s actually right on the main walking street – and I mean literally ON it, not some vague “near the center” nonsense most places claim. When you step out the front door, you’re immediately in the thick of Karpacz’s pedestrian zone with all the cafes and little shops. But here’s the thing – somehow the apartments stay surprisingly quiet, even during the busy summer months when the Deptak gets pretty lively with families and hikers.

The building itself sits at this perfect spot where Konstytucji 3 Maja meets the main drag, so you get that authentic mountain town vibe without being stuck way up some random hill (trust me, I’ve made that mistake before in the Sudetes). What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to keep that traditional Polish mountain character while actually making everything work properly – the heating’s solid, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and honestly, the kitchens are better equipped than most rental places I’ve stayed at. The apartments feel more like someone’s actual home than a sterile hotel room, which is rare these days. You’ll find little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need – proper coffee makers, enough towels, decent lighting for reading after those long hiking days.

I mean, the 9.5 rating makes sense once you spend a night there. The location alone is worth it – you can walk to Wang Church in about ten minutes, and if you’re planning to hit the trails up to Śnieżka or explore the Karkonosze National Park, you’re perfectly positioned. Plus, and this is key if you’re visiting during peak season, you can actually find parking nearby without wanting to throw your rental car keys into the nearest ravine. The staff knows the area inside and out too – they’ll steer you toward the less crowded trails if you ask nicely, and they’re honest about timing (like how the cable car gets absolutely packed after 10 AM on weekends). Sometimes you find places that look great online but feel sort of soulless in person – this isn’t one of those. It’s got that lived-in comfort that makes you want to stay an extra day, even when you’ve got other stops planned on your trip through Lower Silesia.
