You know what caught me off guard about Apartamenty Sun&Fun Royal? The name makes it sound like some massive resort complex, but it’s actually this perfectly sized apartment setup tucked away on Przemysłowa Street in Karpacz. I mean, when you first pull up to ul. Przemysłowa 18/11, you’re not exactly in the thick of the tourist madness – which honestly turned out to be one of my favorite things about staying there.
The location is sort of brilliant when you think about it. You’re close enough to walk into the heart of Karpacz when you want that mountain town energy, but far enough from the main drag that you’re not dealing with tour groups clomping around at 6 AM. The apartment itself has this really lived-in comfort that you don’t get at regular hotels – actual kitchen space where you can make proper coffee (not those tiny hotel packets), and the kind of windows that let you see what the weather’s actually doing in the mountains before you commit to hiking plans. The whole setup feels like someone’s well-maintained second home rather than a sterile rental unit. I noticed they’ve got the practical stuff sorted too – decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every time someone else connects, and the heating actually works properly, which matters more than you’d think when you’re this close to the Sudetes and the temperature drops at night.
What really sold me on the place was how the owners seem to get what travelers actually need. There’s proper storage space for ski gear if you’re visiting in winter, and – this is weirdly specific but important – the shower has legitimately good water pressure, not that sad trickle you get at half the places in mountain towns. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there; it’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just trying to be really, really good at being a comfortable base for exploring this part of Poland. You’re a short drive from Śnieżka if you’re feeling ambitious about hiking, and honestly, after a long day out in the mountains, coming back to a space where you can spread out and actually relax (instead of perching on the edge of a tiny hotel bed) feels pretty luxurious. The whole experience reminded me why I prefer apartment stays over hotels when I’m somewhere for more than just a quick overnight – you get to live in the place a little bit, not just sleep there.
