You know what struck me first about Apartamenty SPA Cztery Pory Roku? The name literally means “Four Seasons” in Polish, and honestly, it delivers on that promise in ways I didn’t expect. Tucked away on Królewska Street in Kościelisko – which most people can’t even pronounce correctly (it’s koh-sheh-LEES-ko, by the way) – this place sits in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to Zakopane’s chaos but far enough to actually hear birds in the morning. The building itself has this modern alpine vibe that doesn’t try too hard to be fancy, if that makes sense. When I pulled up, there was plenty of parking right there, which… well, anyone who’s tried to park in Zakopane proper during ski season knows that’s basically gold.
The spa facilities here are actually worth talking about, and I say that as someone who’s usually skeptical of hotel spas. They’ve got this indoor pool that’s perfect when the weather turns – and in the Tatras, it turns fast. The apartments themselves feel more like someone’s really nice mountain house than a typical hotel room. Full kitchens that actually work (I made pierogi one evening because, well, when in Poland), and the views from the upper floors… I mean, you’re looking straight at the Tatra peaks. During my stay in March, I’d wake up to fresh snow on Giewont mountain, and by afternoon the sun would be streaming through those big windows. The whole “four seasons” thing isn’t just marketing – you literally experience weather changes throughout the day up here.
What really sells this place, though, is how the locals treat it. It’s not some tourist trap where everyone speaks five languages and charges you double for coffee. The staff actually lives in the area, knows which trails are worth your time (skip Morskie Oko on weekends unless you enjoy crowds), and can point you toward the good oscypek cheese vendors in Zakopane’s market. Plus, you’re walking distance from some hiking trails that most tourists never find because they’re too busy fighting for selfies at Krupówki Street. The 4-star rating feels right – it’s comfortable and well-maintained without being stuffy. And that 9-point rating? Yeah, I get it. The combination of location, facilities that actually work, and staff who seem to care makes a difference. Just don’t expect nightlife right outside your door – this is more about unwinding after a day in the mountains, maybe soaking in that spa, and falling asleep to actual silence instead of city noise.
