Apartamenty Rodzinne II ApartZakop
So I’ve actually stayed at Apartamenty Rodzinne II ApartZakop a few times now, and honestly? It’s become my go-to spot when I’m in Zakopane with the family. The location on Boruty-Spiechowicza is what really sold me initially – you’re basically a ten-minute walk from Krupówki (that’s the main pedestrian street where all the action is), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds stumbling around at 2 AM. I mean, Zakopane gets pretty wild during peak season, so that buffer zone matters more than you’d think.
What I love about this place is that it actually feels like proper apartments, not those cramped hotel rooms where you’re practically sleeping on top of each other. The family setup here works brilliantly if you’ve got kids – there’s space for them to spread out their stuff without turning the whole place into chaos. The kitchenettes are surprisingly well-equipped too, which is clutch because eating out for every meal in Zakopane will drain your wallet fast (trust me on this one). I’ve made countless midnight teas here after long days hiking in the Tatras, and there’s something really satisfying about having that home-away-from-home feeling. The Wi-Fi actually works well too – important if you’re trying to upload those mountain photos to make your friends jealous.
Now, it’s not the Ritz or anything – it’s a solid 3-star spot and feels exactly like that. But you know what? That’s precisely why it works. The staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you’re sorted, and I’ve never had issues with check-in even when I’ve rolled up later than planned (which happens more often than I’d like to admit). Parking can be a bit tight during busy periods – Zakopane wasn’t exactly built for the number of cars that descend on it these days – but there’s usually something available if you’re not too picky about walking an extra block. The 8-out-of-10 rating it’s got feels about right to me. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it consistently delivers on what it promises. Plus, you’re perfectly positioned to hit the cable car up to Kasprowy Wierch early before the tour buses arrive, or to grab those amazing oscypek (smoked sheep cheese) from the vendors near Gubałówka without having to trek across town. If you’re looking for a reliable base camp for exploring the Tatras without breaking the bank, this place just works.
