The moment I pulled up to 10C Nędzy Kubińca, I realized I wasn’t actually staying in Zakopane proper – I was in Kościelisko, which honestly turned out to be the better deal. Most tourists get stuck in the chaos of Zakopane’s main drag, but here you’re maybe ten minutes from all that madness while actually being able to hear yourself think. The building itself has that clean, modern apartment-style setup that screams “designed for people who want hotel amenities but hate hotel weirdness.” Parking was straightforward, which – if you’ve ever tried to park anywhere near central Zakopane in summer – you’ll appreciate more than you expect.

The apartments themselves feel more like staying at a well-organized friend’s place than some sterile hotel room. I mean, you’ve got a proper kitchen (not just a sad mini-fridge and kettle situation), decent-sized living areas, and bathrooms that actually have space to spread out your stuff. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be some luxury resort, but everything works and the finishes are solid. What really sold me was the view situation… depending on which unit you get, you’re looking out at the Tatras without having to crane your neck around other buildings. The morning light hitting those peaks while you’re having coffee in your pajamas? Pretty hard to beat. I will say the walls aren’t exactly soundproof, so if you get unlucky neighbors, you’ll know about it – but that’s apartment-style living for you.

Here’s the thing about the location that the booking sites don’t really capture – you’re positioned perfectly for both the tourist stuff and the actual hiking. Zakopane’s restaurants and that whole Krupówki Street scene are close enough for evening plans, but you wake up with easy access to trails that most visitors never discover because they’re staying right in town. The local bus connections are actually decent if you don’t have a car, though honestly, having wheels makes everything easier around here. The 7-out-of-10 rating seems fair – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises without any major disappointments. I’d definitely book it again, especially during shoulder season when you get better rates and the area isn’t completely overrun with tour groups. Just don’t expect round-the-clock reception service or daily housekeeping – this is more independent travel style, which I personally prefer anyway.
