Apartamenty Paproć i Malina – 300 metrów do centrum
You know what caught me off guard about Apartamenty Paproć i Malina? The name literally means “Fern and Raspberry Apartments,” which sounds almost whimsical until you’re actually walking up to this surprisingly modern building on Nad Łomnicą street. I mean, when you see that 9.5 rating, you sort of wonder if it’s too good to be true – but honestly, after staying here, I get it. The location is what really sells it though. Three hundred meters to Karpacz center sounds like marketing speak, but it’s actually dead-on accurate. You can literally see the main drag from some of the windows, and it’s an easy walk even when you’re hauling ski gear or hiking boots depending on the season.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being so close to everything. Nad Łomnicą is this residential street that doesn’t get much through traffic, so you’re not dealing with tour buses rumbling past at 7 AM (trust me, that’s a thing in other parts of Karpacz). The apartments themselves feel more like someone’s well-designed second home than a typical rental – there’s actually thought put into the kitchen setup, decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out when everyone’s streaming Netflix, and honestly, the beds are better than what I have at home. The whole fern and raspberry theme isn’t overdone either; it’s more subtle touches here and there rather than some overwhelming botanical explosion.
Here’s the thing that really impressed me: the owners clearly know Karpacz. They’ve got local hiking maps that aren’t the touristy garbage you get at hotels, actual restaurant recommendations (not just the expensive places that give kickbacks), and they’ll tell you which trails to hit early before the crowds show up. During winter, they’ve got the ski storage situation figured out properly – not just some sad corner where everything gets tangled up. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too; none of that “meet us at this random café” nonsense you sometimes get with apartment rentals. And parking? Yeah, there’s actually space for your car, which if you’ve ever tried to park in central Karpacz during peak season, you’ll know is basically a miracle. I stayed here in late spring when the hiking season was just kicking off, and the combination of being able to walk to restaurants and bars but still getting a proper night’s sleep made all the difference. Plus, you’re perfectly positioned for day trips – whether you’re heading up to Śnieżka or just wandering around the lower trails, everything’s accessible without the hassle of staying right in the thick of tourist central.
