Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Apartamenty Oaza Superior on Grunwaldzka – I mean, the street looks pretty ordinary from the outside. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t need to shout about it from the sidewalk. This place actually gets it right in ways that matter when you’re hauling luggage after a long day hiking in the Tatras.
The apartments themselves are what I’d call “quietly impressive” – nothing flashy, but everything works the way it should. The kitchenettes are actually functional (not those joke setups where you can barely boil water), and the beds are genuinely comfortable, which is huge after spending hours wandering around Zakopane’s market or tackling one of the mountain trails. What really sold me was the little details: proper blackout curtains that actually block the early summer sunrise, decent water pressure in the shower, and – this might sound weird – but the WiFi actually reaches every corner of the room. You’d be surprised how many places mess that up.
Location-wise, you’re sort of in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to Krupówki Street when you want that touristy buzz (it’s like a 10-minute stroll), but far enough away that you don’t hear the weekend crowds getting rowdy outside your window. Grunwaldzka itself is one of those streets that locals actually use, so there’s a decent bakery nearby and a small grocery store that doesn’t completely gouge you on prices – which is refreshing in a tourist town like Zakopane. Parking was surprisingly painless too, though I’d probably book ahead during peak season when half of Warsaw descends on the mountains. The whole setup just feels like someone actually thought about what travelers need instead of what looks good in photos. I mean, a 9-star rating doesn’t happen by accident, and after staying here, I get why people keep coming back.
