Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to these apartments on Boczna street – the name APARTAMENTY NAD ŁOMNICZKĄ-MALACHIT is quite a mouthful, and I’ll admit I butchered the pronunciation when asking locals for directions. But you know what? This place turned out to be one of those hidden gems that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special in Karpacz. The building sits right above the Łomniczka stream (that’s what “nad Łomniczką” means, by the way), and you can actually hear the gentle water flowing below your windows at night – it’s incredibly soothing, especially after a day hiking in the Karkonosze mountains.
What really struck me about this place is how thoughtfully everything’s been set up. The apartments themselves feel more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s place than some sterile hotel room. I mean, there’s actual space to spread out your hiking gear, proper kitchen facilities if you want to grab groceries from the local Żabka down the hill, and – this might sound silly – but the Wi-Fi actually works everywhere, which isn’t always a given in mountain towns. The owners clearly understand what travelers need because there are little touches everywhere: good lighting for reading those trail maps, plenty of outlets for charging devices, and proper blackout curtains for when you want to sleep in after tackling Śnieżka peak. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven the winding roads up to Karpacz will appreciate.
The location is actually perfect if you know the area – you’re close enough to walk to the main drag with all the restaurants and the gondola station, but far enough up Boczna street that you escape the summer crowds and tour bus noise. I found myself taking the same route each morning: down to grab fresh bread from the bakery near the market square, then either heading up toward Śnieżka or exploring the trails around Kolorowe Jeziorka. The fact that this place has a 9.8 rating doesn’t surprise me at all – it’s that rare combination of being genuinely comfortable, well-located, and run by people who actually care about their guests’ experience. Plus, and I can’t stress this enough, waking up to mountain views while listening to the stream below… well, it sort of makes you understand why people keep coming back to this corner of the Sudetes year after year.
