You know, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Apartamenty JSZI on Chłabówka Górna – I mean, it’s tucked away in this quiet residential area that honestly feels more like you’re staying at someone’s family place than a typical hotel. But that’s actually what makes it pretty special. The building sits on this slightly elevated spot where you can catch glimpses of the Tatras between the trees, and there’s something really satisfying about being away from the main tourist chaos while still being close enough to walk into central Zakopane when you want to.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly well put together for a 3-star place. I stayed in one of the larger units and was genuinely impressed by how thoughtfully everything was arranged – the kitchen actually has proper cookware (not those flimsy tourist apartment pans), and the bathroom has this unexpectedly good shower with decent water pressure. What I really appreciated was the little balcony where you can sit with morning coffee and listen to… well, mostly just birds and the occasional neighbor. It’s that kind of peaceful that you don’t realize you needed until you’re there. The Wi-Fi works reliably too, which honestly can’t be taken for granted in some of these mountain locations. Storage space is generous – they clearly understand that people coming to Zakopane tend to bring hiking gear, ski equipment, or just way too many warm clothes.

Here’s what I think really sets this place apart though: the location gives you options. You’re close enough to Chramcówki that you can easily get to the cable car or hit up some of the better restaurants, but you’re also positioned perfectly if you want to explore some of the less touristy hiking trails that start from the Chłabówka area. Parking is straightforward (which, trust me, is not always the case in Zakopane), and the whole setup just feels… manageable, I guess? Like, you’re not fighting crowds to get in and out of your accommodation. The check-in process was refreshingly simple – no overly formal desk clerk situation, just practical people who know the area well and can give you actual useful recommendations about where to eat or which trails are in good condition. I mean, a 9 rating doesn’t come from nowhere, and honestly, after staying there, I get it. It’s not fancy, but it’s genuinely comfortable and well-run in a way that makes you want to come back.
