I mean, when you’re staying right in the heart of Zakopane at this price point, you sort of expect compromises – but this place surprised me in the best way possible.

The location is what really makes it work. You’re literally a stone’s throw from Krupówki Street (the main pedestrian strip where all the action happens), but here’s the thing – you’re just far enough off the beaten path that you don’t get the late-night crowds stumbling past your window. I stayed here during peak summer season, and while Krupówki was absolute chaos until midnight, our street stayed surprisingly quiet. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel – there’s this lived-in comfort that you don’t get with those sterile chain properties. The kitchen actually has everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the local market instead of eating out every meal, which, let’s be honest, can get expensive in the tourist zone.

What really won me over though was how the hosts clearly understand what travelers actually need. There’s proper blackout curtains (crucial if you’re planning early morning hikes in the Tatras), the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and – this might sound small but it matters – there’s enough outlets near the bed for charging your devices. The whole setup just feels thoughtful. Parking was straightforward too, which if you’ve ever tried to navigate Zakopane’s narrow streets during tourist season, you’ll appreciate. The building itself has that classic mountain architecture without feeling kitschy, and from the windows you get glimpses of the peaks that remind you why you came to this part of Poland in the first place. I’d definitely stay here again, especially since it’s perfectly positioned for both the hiking trails and the town’s restaurants – you can walk to Gubałówka Hill in about fifteen minutes, or hit up any of the traditional góralski restaurants without needing to drive anywhere. For a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight.
