You know what struck me first about Apartamenty Ewa? It’s tucked right on Słowackiego street in this perfect spot where you can actually hear the mountain wind through the trees, but you’re not stuck way out in the middle of nowhere. I mean, Karpacz can get pretty touristy – especially during ski season when everyone’s tramping around with their gear – but this place feels like you’ve found something the crowds haven’t quite discovered yet. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Polish mountain architecture that actually makes sense for the weather here, and honestly, after staying in some of those cookie-cutter resort hotels, there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try too hard to impress you right off the bat.
What really gets me about this spot is how Ewa (I’m assuming that’s the owner) has thought through the details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The apartments – and they really feel like apartments, not hotel rooms with a kitchenette shoved in the corner – have these windows that open wide enough to let in that crisp mountain air without the whole place turning into an icebox. You’ll notice the kitchen setup actually works for making real meals, which is clutch when you’ve been hiking around Śnieżka all day and the last thing you want is to hunt down a restaurant. Plus, and this might sound random, but the Wi-Fi actually reaches every corner of the place – I’ve stayed in enough mountain spots where you’re playing hot-and-cold trying to get a signal that I notice when it just works everywhere.
The thing that really sold me though? It’s maybe a seven-minute walk to the main drag where all the cable car action happens, but far enough that you’re not dealing with tour buses rumbling past at 6 AM. And that 9.7 rating isn’t some fluke – there’s this attention to cleanliness and maintenance that you don’t always get, even at pricier places. I remember thinking the shower pressure was surprisingly good (mountain towns can be hit-or-miss with that), and there weren’t any of those weird mystery stains or broken drawer handles that make you wonder what the previous guests were up to. Look, Karpacz has plenty of options, from those big resort complexes to tiny pensions that your great-aunt might love, but if you want something that feels like a local friend let you crash at their well-kept place in town, this is probably your spot.
