The apartments themselves are solid – I mean, it’s a 3-star place so don’t expect marble countertops, but everything works and it’s genuinely clean. What really won me over was how the owner (or maybe it was the property manager?) actually knew the area inside and out. They pointed me toward this little bakery about two blocks away that opens at 6 AM – perfect for grabbing fresh bread before heading up to the trails. The kitchen setup is pretty decent too, which matters because eating out every meal in Zakopane can get expensive fast, especially during ski season. There’s this weird thing where the shower pressure is amazing in the morning but sort of peters out in the evening – probably when everyone’s getting back from hiking – but honestly, after a day on the trails, you’re just happy to get clean.

Here’s the thing that really sets this place apart though: the location is actually brilliant once you figure it out. You’re maybe a 15-minute walk from Krupówki (that’s the main pedestrian street everyone talks about), but you’re also ridiculously close to some of the better hiking trailheads that most tourists never find. I could literally see families dragging their suitcases down from the bus stops on the main road, while I’m slipping out the back way toward Gubałówka without dealing with any of that. Plus – and this is huge if you’re driving – parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to town. The 9-star rating makes total sense when you consider you’re getting apartment-style space and freedom at basically hotel prices, in a spot where you can actually breathe. Sure, it’s not fancy, but it’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned because it just… works. The kind of find you don’t really want to tell everyone about because then it might get too popular, you know?
