Apartamenty BlueSky – Nad Łomnicą15 – Centrum Karpacza, blisko deptaka
You know what struck me first about BlueSky Apartamenty? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – step out onto one of those balconies and you’re looking straight up at this ridiculous expanse of Karkonosze sky that honestly feels bigger than it should. The building sits right on Nad Łomnicą street, which I’ll admit sounds intimidating if you don’t speak Polish, but it’s basically a quiet residential road that puts you maybe a seven-minute walk from all the action on the main pedestrian strip.
The apartments themselves feel like someone’s stylish cousin designed them – clean lines, decent kitchenettes that actually work (I made coffee every morning without cursing at the machine), and these big windows that let in so much light you forget you’re in mountain country where weather can get moody fast. What I really appreciated was the space – these aren’t those cramped European hotel rooms where you’re bumping into furniture. You can actually spread out your hiking gear, leave a suitcase open, maybe even do some of those stretches your back demands after a day scrambling around Śnieżka peak. The location thing is sort of perfect in that understated way… you’re close enough to walk to all those restaurants and souvenir shops along the pedestrian zone, but when you come back at night, it’s properly quiet. No drunk tourists singing folk songs under your window at 2 AM, which honestly happened to me at another place in Zakopane once.
I mean, look – Karpacz can get pretty touristy, especially during ski season and those peak summer months when everyone’s trying to escape the heat in Warsaw or Wrocław. But staying here felt like I had this little retreat that was mine, you know? The 8.6 rating makes sense to me because it’s one of those places that just works without trying too hard. Nothing’s particularly fancy or Instagram-worthy, but everything functions the way it should. Hot water shows up when you turn the tap, the WiFi doesn’t cut out during video calls, and there’s enough space in the fridge for actual groceries if you want to skip restaurants for a meal or two. Plus, if you’re planning to hit the cable car up to Kopa or do any of the longer hiking trails, you can actually park nearby without spending half your morning circling blocks looking for a spot – which, trust me, becomes a real issue in the town center during busy weekends.
