You know what caught me off guard about Apartamenty Bernardo Lux? The location is absolutely perfect, but not in that generic “convenient location” way every hotel claims. I mean, you’re literally on Konstytucji 3-ego Maja street, which honestly sounds intimidating if you don’t speak Polish, but it’s actually this lovely residential area where you can walk to everything without dealing with the touristy chaos that hits some parts of Karpacz during peak season.
The apartments themselves – and they really are proper apartments, not hotel rooms masquerading as suites – feel like someone’s stylish friend let you crash at their place. The Lux in the name isn’t just marketing fluff; there’s this attention to detail that you notice in small ways. Like, the kitchen actually has decent knives (travel enough and you’ll appreciate this), and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works properly. I stayed during shoulder season in October, and while some places in the area felt a bit tired after the summer rush, everything here was spotless and well-maintained. The 9.7 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be a flashy resort, but it nails all the things that actually matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two.
What really sold me was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re close enough to walk to restaurants and the cable car station without needing to drive (parking’s included, by the way, which isn’t always a given in this area). The building sits in this sweet spot where you avoid the noise from the main tourist drag but you’re not stuck way up in the mountains needing to plan every trip down. During the day, you get these glimpses of the Sudetes through the windows – nothing dramatic, just pleasant mountain views that remind you where you are. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too; none of that awkward hanging around a lobby waiting for someone to find your reservation. They clearly know what they’re doing here, probably because they’re not trying to be everything to everyone. If you’re looking for a pool and spa and all that resort stuff, this isn’t your place. But if you want a really comfortable base for exploring Karpacz and the surrounding area – somewhere that feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room – honestly, I can’t think of a better option in town.
