You know what caught me off guard about Apartament z Sauną? It’s tucked away on Oberconiówka street where most tourists never venture, but honestly, that’s exactly why it works so well. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to Krupówki – Zakopane’s main drag – but you escape all that tourist chaos that can get pretty overwhelming, especially during ski season.

The sauna situation is actually legit, which I wasn’t expecting from a 3-star place. After spending a day hiking around Gubałówka or dealing with the crowds at the cable car, having your own private sauna hits different. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than some sterile hotel room – there’s real personality here, proper kitchen setup if you want to cook (and honestly, sometimes you need a break from oscypek and mountain restaurant prices), and the kind of details that make you think someone actually lives here sometimes. The 9-star rating makes sense once you settle in for a day or two.

What I really appreciate is how quiet it gets at night. Oberconiówka doesn’t have the late-night party crowd that stumbles down from the bars near the market square, so you actually sleep well – which matters when you’re planning early morning hikes or hitting the slopes. The parking situation is straightforward too, none of that circling-the-block-for-an-hour nonsense you get closer to the center. And here’s something most people don’t think about: you’re positioned perfectly for exploring beyond just Zakopane itself. Day trips to places like Chochołów or even crossing into Slovakia feel more doable when you’re not fighting tourist traffic just to get out of town. It’s sort of the best of both worlds – you get the authentic Zakopane experience without feeling like you’re camping out in Times Square.
