Apartament WISIA na Pardałówce. Taras na Giewont
Look, I’ll be straight with you about Apartament WISIA – it’s one of those places that surprises you in the best way possible. When I first saw the address on Generała Boruty-Spiechowicza (yeah, try saying that three times fast), I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s tucked away in the Pardałówka area, which is actually perfect because you’re close enough to Zakopane’s main drag but far enough to avoid the tourist chaos that can get pretty intense, especially during ski season.
The moment you step onto that terrace though – and I mean this – the Giewont view just hits you. It’s not one of those “oh, you can sort of see the mountain if you crane your neck” situations. You’re looking straight at one of the most iconic peaks in the Tatras, and honestly, I spent way too much time out there with my morning coffee just staring at it. The apartment itself is solid – nothing fancy, but everything works and it’s clean, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed in the area. The kitchen’s actually functional (rare for a lot of these mountain rentals), and there’s enough space to spread out without feeling cramped. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – you know how some places in Zakopane can get rowdy with all the highlander music and partying? This spot lets you actually sleep.
Here’s what I wish someone had told me before booking: parking can be a bit tricky during peak season, so get there early if you’re driving. Also, it’s about a 15-minute walk to Krupówki Street where all the restaurants and shops are, which I actually loved because it meant I got some exercise after all those pierogi and oscypek tastings. The area around Pardałówka is where more locals live, so you’ll see kids playing in the streets and people going about their daily lives rather than just tourists with cameras. There’s a little grocery store nearby that saved me multiple times when I needed basics without trekking into town. The owner was pretty responsive when I had questions, and check-in was smooth – no standing around waiting for someone to show up like I’ve experienced at other places. Is it luxury? No. But for a 3-star place with that view and the peace you get being slightly removed from the tourist circus, it’s honestly a solid choice. If you’re the type who wants to experience Zakopane without feeling like you’re in the middle of a theme park, this place gets it right.
