What really impressed me was how thoughtfully everything was set up inside. The apartment (mine was 23d/2) felt like someone actually lives there and cares about the details. The kitchen had proper coffee – not those terrible instant packets you usually get – and the bathroom had this surprisingly good shower pressure that’s basically a miracle in older Polish buildings. I mean, you’d be amazed how many places I’ve stayed where the shower feels like a gentle mist. The beds were comfortable too, though the pillows were a bit on the firm side if that matters to you. What I loved most was the little balcony where you can actually see glimpses of the Tatras on clear mornings – nothing dramatic, but just enough to remind you where you are while you’re having your coffee.

The whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward, and the owner (I think it was the owner?) spoke decent English and actually gave useful recommendations about hiking trails that weren’t completely overrun with tour groups. That’s the kind of local insight you just don’t get at big chain hotels. Parking was easy enough on the street, though during peak summer season you might have to walk a block or two – not a big deal, really.

Here’s what sealed it for me though: after three days of hiking and exploring, coming back to this place felt like returning to a friend’s apartment rather than just another hotel room. It’s clean, it’s comfortable, it’s got character without trying too hard, and the 9-rating from other guests makes total sense once you’re there. If you’re the type of traveler who wants authentic local flavor without sacrificing basic comforts, and you don’t need a concierge or room service to feel pampered, this spot delivers exactly what you need. Plus, at these prices for Zakopane? It’s honestly a steal.
