Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Zakopane over the years, and Apartament Tatry55 is one of those spots that just gets it right. It’s tucked away on Paryskich street – and honestly, when I first saw the address I was worried it might be too far from everything, but you know what? It’s actually perfect. You’re close enough to walk to Krupówki (the main pedestrian street) in about 10 minutes, but far enough away that you don’t get all the late-night noise from tourists stumbling back from the bars.

The apartment itself has this really lived-in feel that I mean in the best way possible. It’s not trying to be some sterile hotel room – there are thoughtful touches everywhere, like proper blackout curtains (which, trust me, you’ll appreciate if you’re planning those early morning hikes up to Morskie Oko), and the kitchen actually has everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the Biedronka down the street. The owners clearly know what travelers want because there’s decent Wi-Fi throughout, plenty of outlets near the bed, and – this might sound small but it matters – really good water pressure in the shower. After a day of hiking in the Tatras, that hot shower hits different.

What really sold me on this place though is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’ve got locals walking their dogs in the morning, kids playing in the small park nearby, and it feels like you’re actually staying in Zakopane rather than just passing through. The building itself is quiet – I was there during peak summer season and never had issues with noise from other guests. Parking can be a bit tricky (like everywhere in Zakopane), but there’s usually street parking available if you’re not too picky about walking a block or two. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that awkward waiting around while they process a million forms. I think what impressed me most is that this place has a 9-rating and actually earns it. So many accommodations in mountain towns either charge resort prices for basic rooms or try to pack in too many people, but Apartament Tatry55 strikes that sweet spot where you feel like you’re getting genuine value. It’s the kind of place where you can unwind after exploring Gubałówka or before tackling the trail to Kasprowy Wierch, and it doesn’t break the bank while doing it.
