You know what? I almost walked right past Apartament Przy Bocznej the first time I visited Kowary – it’s tucked away on this quiet side street called Boczna, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it so perfect. While everyone else is scrambling for places right in the town center, you’re getting this peaceful little sanctuary that’s still just a few minutes’ walk from everything that matters.
The apartment itself is one of those places that immediately makes you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel room. I mean, the 9.8 rating isn’t just for show – whoever runs this place actually cares about the details. The morning light comes in just right through the windows, and there’s this lovely quiet that settles over the whole street in the evenings. Kowary’s not exactly a party town (which is part of its charm), but even so, Boczna street is particularly peaceful. You’ll hear the occasional car, maybe some neighbors chatting, but it’s the kind of background noise that actually helps you sleep better. The apartment has everything you need without trying too hard – proper kitchen setup if you want to grab groceries from the local shops, comfortable bed that doesn’t leave you with a sore back, and what I really appreciated was the attention to cleanliness without that overwhelming chemical smell some places have.
What really sold me on this spot, though, is how it puts you right in the rhythm of actual Kowary life. You’re not in some tourist bubble – you’re on a residential street where people actually live, which means you get to see how the town really works. There’s decent parking (always a concern in these smaller Polish towns), and the check-in process was refreshingly straightforward. The location is sort of perfect for exploring the Karkonosze area too, if that’s your thing – you’re close enough to the mountains for day trips but far enough from the crowds that descend on places like Karpacz. I stayed here during shoulder season and it was ideal, though I imagine it gets busier in winter with the skiing crowd. Actually, that might be the only downside – if you’re planning a winter visit, book early because places like this that actually get it right tend to fill up fast.
