You know what caught me off guard about Apartament Pod Śnieżką? The name literally means “Under Śnieżka” – and honestly, that’s not just clever branding. When you step out onto Klonowa Street, you can actually see Poland’s highest peak looming there in the distance, which is pretty incredible for a ground-floor apartment in Kowary. I mean, most places just throw mountain names around, but this one delivers.

The location is what really makes this place work. Kowary isn’t one of those touristy mountain towns that gets completely overrun – it’s more like where locals actually live and work, which means you’re getting real Polish mountain town life without the inflated prices and crowds. Klonowa Street itself is quiet (I stayed here in July and barely heard any traffic), and you’re walking distance to the town center where there’s this great little bakery that opens ridiculously early. The apartment sits on the ground floor, so no lugging suitcases up narrow stairs, and parking was never an issue – something I definitely can’t say about staying in Karpacz or Zakopane.

What struck me most was how the place actually feels lived-in rather than sterile. The owners clearly put thought into the little things – proper blackout curtains (trust me, summer sunrises come early in the mountains), a kitchen that’s actually equipped for cooking real meals, not just reheating leftovers, and this cozy living area where you can spread out after a day hiking. The whole setup works whether you’re using it as a base camp for hitting the trails or just want to decompress somewhere quiet. And that 9.2 rating? Yeah, I get it. It’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything works the way it should, the space is comfortable, and the value is honestly pretty unbeatable for this part of the Sudetes. Plus, if you’re planning to explore the Karkonosze National Park, you’re perfectly positioned – close enough to get there easily, far enough to escape the tourist chaos when you want to just grab a beer and call it a day.
