You know what struck me first about this place? The name actually undersells it – “Apartament pod Nosalem” sounds pretty basic, but honestly, this spot on Jaszczurówka is something else entirely. I mean, you’re basically tucked into one of Zakopane’s quieter residential streets, away from the tourist chaos around Krupówki, but still close enough that you can walk to everything that matters. The Tatra mountains just sort of loom over you here, and I found myself spending way too much time on the balcony just staring at Giewont peak.

The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious – I was expecting your typical cramped mountain rental, but this actually feels like someone’s home that they’ve opened up to guests. The sauna and jacuzzi aren’t just thrown in as afterthoughts either; they’re properly integrated into the space, which is rare for these smaller properties. After a day hiking the trails around Morskie Oko (which, by the way, is absolutely worth the crowded bus ride), coming back to soak in that jacuzzi while looking out at the pine forests… well, it’s pretty hard to beat. The sauna gets properly hot too – none of that lukewarm disappointment you sometimes get in these places.

What I really appreciated was how quiet Jaszczurówka gets in the evenings. During peak season, central Zakopane can feel like a bit of a zoo, but this street maintains that authentic mountain town vibe. You’ll hear the church bells from the wooden church nearby, maybe some distant folk music drifting over from the restaurants, but it’s peaceful enough to actually sleep well. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Zakopane’s narrow streets with a rental car will appreciate. The hosts clearly know their stuff – they had solid recommendations for the less touristy trails and pointed me toward this incredible oscypek cheese vendor at the local market that I never would have found otherwise. Honestly, that 9-rating makes perfect sense once you’ve spent a few days here; it’s not fancy in a sterile hotel way, but it gets all the important things right.
