The thing about staying here is that you’re right in the heart of Kowary, which honestly most people just drive through on their way to Karpacz or Szklarska Poręba. But that’s actually what makes this spot so perfect – you get all the mountain access without the tourist chaos. I mean, you can walk to the old mine shaft entrance in like ten minutes, and there’s this little café around the corner where the locals hang out that serves the best pierogi I’ve had outside of my babcia’s kitchen. The apartment itself feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in some sterile hotel room. The kitchen’s actually functional (shocking, I know), and there’s enough space to spread out your hiking gear without tripping over everything.

What really sold me on this place, though, is how quiet it gets at night. You know that mountain quiet where you can actually hear yourself think? That’s what you get here. Plus, parking’s never been an issue – there’s always space on the street, unlike some of the bigger resort towns where you’re circling for twenty minutes looking for a spot. The owners clearly know what they’re doing too; check-in was smooth, they left actual useful local tips (not just tourist trap recommendations), and when I had a question about the hiking trails, they knew exactly which route I was talking about. The 9-star rating makes total sense when you experience it – it’s not fancy in that over-the-top way, but everything just works. The shower has proper water pressure, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and honestly, after a long day hiking around the Sudetes, that’s exactly what you want.
