Apartament Orlik 006 z ogrodem i widokiem na Śnieżkę – 5D Apartments
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Karpacz, but this little ground-floor apartment on Strażacka really caught me off guard – in the best way possible. The moment you walk into Apartament Orlik 006, you get why it’s got that killer 9-star rating. It’s not just the space (though honestly, it’s way more generous than most places you’ll find in this part of the Sudetes), it’s that you’ve got your own private slice of garden where you can actually see Śnieżka peak without craning your neck or fighting other tourists for the view.
The location is pretty clever, actually. Strażacka street is one of those quiet residential roads that most visitors walk right past, but you’re literally a five-minute stroll from all the main action – the cable car to Kopa, the hiking trails, those tourist shops selling amber jewelry. Yet when you come back after a day of tramping around the mountains, it’s peaceful enough that you can hear the birds instead of drunk Germans singing at 2 AM (sorry, but we’ve all been there). The garden setup is what really sold me though – there’s something almost magical about having your morning coffee while staring directly at Śnieżka, especially when the early light hits the summit. You know what I mean? Those Instagram photos everyone posts from the overcrowded viewpoints don’t capture what it’s like to have that view basically to yourself.
Inside, the 5D Apartments folks clearly know what they’re doing. Everything feels thoughtfully put together without being fussy – good WiFi that actually works when you need to upload those mountain photos, a kitchen that’s equipped well enough to make a proper meal if you don’t feel like eating out every night, and honestly, just the right amount of space to spread out after being cramped in hiking gear all day. The ground floor thing might seem random, but it’s brilliant – no hauling luggage up narrow stairs, easy access to that garden I keep going on about, and surprisingly quiet since you’re not dealing with footsteps above your head. I mean, Karpacz can get pretty busy during peak season, so having a place that feels like a proper retreat rather than just another tourist crash pad makes all the difference. If you’re planning to use this as a base for exploring the Krkonoše mountains – and honestly, why else would you be in Karpacz – this place gets it right.
