Apartament nr 1 z balkonem, apartament nr 7 z tarasem, Wilcza przy Szlaku
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name sounds like you’re booking apartment number one or seven, but honestly, it’s way more charming than that bureaucratic title suggests. I stayed in the one with the balcony – apartment nr 1 – and I mean, when you’re sitting out there with your morning coffee looking over Karpacz, you sort of forget you’re technically in what amounts to a really well-done rental setup.
The location on Wilcza is actually perfect if you know anything about this part of the Sudetes. You’re close enough to the main hiking trails that you can literally walk to most trailheads (the locals call it “przy Szlaku” for a reason), but far enough from the touristy center that you won’t deal with crowds of day-trippers stumbling back from the bars at night. I walked to Wang Church in about fifteen minutes, and the cable car to Śnieżka – well, that’s maybe a twenty-minute stroll if you’re not in a rush. The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there, not like those sterile hotel rooms where everything’s bolted down. The kitchen had proper pans, not those flimsy things you usually get, and there were enough plates that I could cook a real dinner without doing dishes halfway through. The balcony gets morning sun, which was clutch for drying hiking gear, and honestly, just sitting out there planning the day’s route became part of my routine.
What really sold me though was how quiet it gets at night – you hear the wind in the trees more than traffic, which is rare for anywhere walkable in Karpacz. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you consider it’s got that sweet spot of being comfortable without trying too hard to impress. Check-in was straightforward, parking wasn’t a nightmare like it can be in this area during peak season, and the whole setup just worked. If you’re planning to actually explore the mountains rather than just pose for Instagram shots, this is the kind of place where you’ll sleep well and wake up ready to hit the trails. Plus, there’s something satisfying about coming back to a real apartment after a long day hiking – you can spread out your maps, cook something substantial, and not worry about hotel quiet hours when you’re planning tomorrow’s adventure.
