You know what caught me off guard about Apartament Nad Stawem? The name literally means “apartment by the pond,” and I honestly wasn’t expecting much from what sounded like a basic rental. But this little place on Cyrhla street actually surprised me – it’s tucked away in this quieter part of Zakopane where you can still hear the morning birds instead of just tour buses rumbling past at dawn.
The location is sort of perfect if you’re one of those people (like me) who wants to be close enough to walk into the main Krupówki strip for dinner, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds stumbling past your window at midnight. It’s maybe a 15-minute walk to the heart of things, which honestly feels like nothing when you’re surrounded by those Tatra mountain views that make every stroll feel like a postcard moment. The apartment itself has this unpretentious, lived-in comfort – I mean, it’s a solid 3-star place that doesn’t try to be fancy, but everything works and it’s genuinely clean. The kind of spot where you can spread out your hiking gear without worrying about messing up pristine surfaces, you know?
What really won me over was how the hosts actually seem to care about the place. Check-in was smooth (they were flexible when my bus from Krakow ran late), and they’d stocked some local touches that felt thoughtful rather than touristy. The apartment has decent cooking facilities too, which matters more than you’d think when you discover that Zakopane restaurant prices can be… well, let’s just say you’ll appreciate being able to make your own breakfast. The pond they reference in the name isn’t some grand lake situation, but there’s something genuinely peaceful about it – especially in the early morning when the mist sits low and you can grab your coffee and just decompress before heading out to tackle Gubałówka or whatever mountain adventure you’ve planned. Parking was actually manageable, which anyone who’s driven in Zakopane during peak season will tell you is basically a miracle. Honestly, the whole experience felt less like staying in tourist accommodation and more like borrowing a friend’s place – comfortable, unpretentious, and perfectly positioned for exploring the region without the tourist-trap markup.

Byliśmy bardzo zadowoleni z pobytu w apartamencie. Właścicielka jest niesamowicie miła. Wszystko jest czyste. Bardzo duże i wygodne łóżka. Taras na wieczorne spotkania. Apartament nie znajduje się przy głównej drodze, co daje poczucie ciszy po hałasie dużego miasta. Są też gry dla dzieci.

Am Rand von Zakopane. Sehr, sehr ruhige Lage. Weit weg vom Touristenzentrum. Man kann hier sehr schön entspannen. Eine sehr große Terrasse liegt direkt am schön angelegten Teich.
