You know what caught me off guard about Apartament Monadin 3? The elevator ride to the fifth floor – I mean, yeah, it’s a bit of a climb if you’re hauling heavy luggage, but honestly, that view when you step out makes it worth every floor. This place sits right on Strada Carpaților, which is actually perfect because you’re close enough to the old town that you can walk there in about fifteen minutes, but far enough that you’re not dealing with all the tourist noise at night.
The apartment itself is way more spacious than the photos suggest. I’ve stayed in plenty of four-star places that felt cramped, but this one – well, it’s got that Eastern European apartment charm where the rooms are actually generous. The kitchen is fully equipped (and I mean actually equipped, not just a mini-fridge and hopes), which is huge if you want to grab groceries from the Carrefour down the street instead of eating out every meal. The bed is comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that hotel-bed back ache, and the WiFi is solid – important if you’re working remotely or just trying to figure out which trail to hit in the Carpathians the next day.
What really sells this place though is the location knowledge you get from staying here. You’re basically living like a local in a proper Romanian apartment building, complete with the satisfying heavy door clicks and thick walls that actually keep sound out. The building’s entrance is on the quieter side of the street, so you don’t get the early morning delivery truck symphony. Plus, being on the fifth floor means you can actually see toward the mountains on clear days – not a full panoramic view, but enough to remind you why you came to Brașov in the first place. The host clearly knows their stuff too; check-in was smooth and they actually gave useful recommendations, not just the standard “visit the Black Church” spiel everyone gets. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood, but there are spots if you know where to look – and honestly, once you’re settled in, you probably won’t need your car much anyway since the buses run regularly and most of what you want to see is walkable.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
