It’s tucked away on Za Strugiem street in this quiet residential pocket of Zakopane where you can actually hear yourself think – and trust me, that’s saying something in a town that gets absolutely mobbed during ski season. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the main Krupówki pedestrian strip in about ten minutes, but you escape all that tourist chaos once you turn onto this little side street.

The apartment itself honestly surprised me. When you see “4-star” you sometimes wonder if they’re being generous, but this place actually delivers on that rating. The space feels properly lived-in rather than sterile – you know, like someone’s stylish aunt decorated it instead of some hotel chain committee. There’s this cozy mountain vibe with wooden accents that doesn’t feel forced or kitschy, which is refreshing because Zakopane can go pretty heavy on the highlander theme sometimes. The kitchen’s actually functional too (I made coffee every morning and it didn’t feel like camping), and the Wi-Fi worked reliably even when half of Poland seemed to be streaming something during evening hours. Parking was straightforward – there’s a spot included, which you’ll appreciate if you’ve ever tried finding street parking near the town center on a weekend.

What I really loved though is how the owners seem to get what travelers actually need. The check-in was smooth, no weird bureaucratic hoops to jump through, and they left these little local touches that felt genuine rather than performative. The place stays surprisingly quiet even though you’re in a residential area – I slept well even during my stay in February when the town was packed with skiers. And honestly, the location works brilliantly as a base for exploring. You can walk to the cable car stations without dealing with the main street crowds, plus there’s this great local bakery just a few blocks away that opens early (the locals line up there, which is always a good sign). The apartment sits in that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing actual Zakopane life rather than just tourist Zakopane, if you know what I mean. For the price point and that 9-point rating – which seems pretty accurate from what I experienced – it’s the kind of place you’d actually recommend to friends without any caveats.
