Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Apartament Luna on Prusa Street – it’s tucked away in this quiet residential part of Karpacz that most tourists never see. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones hiding in plain sight. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Polish mountain architecture that actually grows on you, and there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more like a local neighborhood than a tourist trap.
The apartment itself is what I’d call thoughtfully simple – not Instagram-perfect, but genuinely comfortable in a way that makes you want to kick off your shoes and actually relax. The windows face toward the Karkonosze foothills, which means you get these lovely morning views without the street noise from the main drag where all the souvenir shops are. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the Kopa ski lift in about fifteen minutes, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant shuttle bus rumble that drives me crazy at some of the more central places. The kitchen is properly equipped too – not just the usual two-burner setup – which came in handy when we grabbed fresh bread and local cheese from that little market on Konstytucji 3 Maja.
What really won me over was the practical stuff that nobody talks about in the glossy reviews. Parking is actually straightforward (try finding that in central Karpacz during ski season), and the check-in process was refreshingly human – no robotic key cards or confusing apps, just real people who know the area. The owner mentioned a hiking trail that starts practically behind the building, leading up toward Śnieżka, which we never would have discovered otherwise. It’s one of those local shortcuts that saves you from the crowded main routes. The Wi-Fi is solid, the shower has proper pressure, and – this might sound minor but it’s not – the beds are firm enough that you don’t wake up feeling like you wrestled a pretzel all night. Sure, it’s not fancy in the spa-hotel sense, but there’s something to be said for a place that does the basics really well without charging you for amenities you don’t need.
