Apartament Królewski Superior z sauną
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Zakopane over the years, but this apartment on Krzeptowskiego Street really caught me off guard – in the best way possible. The name “Apartament Królewski Superior z sauną” sounds a bit fancy, sure, but honestly? It lives up to it. You know what hit me first when I walked in? The space actually feels royal, not just because of the name. High ceilings, elegant furnishings that don’t look like they came from a hotel catalog, and – this is the kicker – your own private sauna right there in the apartment. I mean, after a day of hiking the Tatras or dealing with the crowds on Krupówki, having a sauna to yourself is pretty incredible.
The location is what really makes sense though. Krzeptowskiego Street isn’t right in the touristy chaos of the main strip (thank goodness), but you’re still close enough to walk to everything that matters. It’s maybe a 10-minute stroll to Krupówki if you want the restaurants and souvenir madness, but honestly, the neighborhood around the apartment is much more authentic Zakopane. You’ll hear Polish families chatting on their balconies in the evening instead of tour groups, which I actually love. Parking wasn’t a nightmare either – there’s space nearby, and anyone who’s tried to park in central Zakopane during ski season knows that’s basically a miracle. The building itself is well-maintained, and check-in was straightforward, none of that “wait around for two hours” nonsense you sometimes get with vacation rentals.
What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail that you don’t expect. The kitchen is actually functional – like, you can cook real meals, not just heat up instant noodles. The sauna (did I mention the sauna?) gets properly hot and has that clean, cedar smell that makes you feel like you’re at some expensive spa. The whole place stays quiet at night too, which is huge if you’re planning early morning trips to Morskie Oko or Gubałówka. I stayed here during both summer hiking season and winter ski time, and it works beautifully for both. The 4-star rating feels right – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but everything works well and feels thoughtfully put together. With a 9 out of 10 rating from other guests, I’m clearly not the only one who thinks this place nails the balance between comfort and authenticity that’s so hard to find in popular mountain towns.
