The space is bigger than expected too – we had room to spread out our hiking gear without tripping over each other, and the kitchen actually has everything you need if you want to grab groceries from the Żabka down the road instead of eating out every meal. Parking was straightforward, which… look, if you’ve ever driven around Zakopane during peak season, you know that’s worth mentioning.

Check-in came with these casual recommendations that weren’t in any guidebook – like which trail to take if you want to avoid the tour groups, or where to get the best oscypek without paying tourist prices. The location puts you right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk into the main part of Kościelisko (great for dinner options, by the way), but far enough from the bus routes that it stays peaceful. We were there in late September, so things were already quieting down from summer madness, but even then you could tell this street doesn’t get the foot traffic that some of the main accommodation strips do. The apartment gets great light in the mornings too – there’s something about mountain light that just hits different, especially when you’re planning your day over coffee while listening to that stream. I’d definitely book this again, probably for a longer stay next time since it felt more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in typical tourist accommodation.
