I mean, you’re still in Zakopane, but it’s refreshingly removed from the madness of Krupówki street with all those horse-drawn carriages and souvenir shops.

The apartment itself is honestly better than I expected for a 3-star place. The forest is literally right there (hence the name, I guess), and I found myself just staring out the windows at these massive pine trees. There’s something about waking up to that view instead of another hotel building or parking lot. The setup is pretty straightforward – it’s more like staying in someone’s actual apartment than a sterile hotel room, which I actually prefer. You get a real kitchen, proper living space, and the kind of thick walls that keep things quiet even when families are staying upstairs. Parking was dead simple too, which anyone who’s driven around central Zakopane during ski season will appreciate.

What really sold me on this place was how easy it made exploring the area without dealing with tourist crowds every time you step outside. You can walk to the main attractions – it’s maybe 15 minutes to get to the heart of things – but you’re not paying downtown prices or fighting for restaurant reservations. The neighborhood has this authentic mountain town feel that the center of Zakopane sort of lost years ago. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the air actually feels cleaner here. Maybe it’s psychological, but being surrounded by forest instead of tour buses makes a difference. The local bus connections are solid if you don’t want to walk, and honestly, the few times I needed to ask the host about anything, they responded quickly and knew the area inside and out. It’s one of those places that earns its 9 rating not because it’s fancy, but because it just works – and works well. If you’re the type who’d rather have a genuine base for exploring the Tatras instead of being in the thick of tourist central, this is your spot.
