Here’s the thing about staying in Kowary that nobody really tells you – you’re perfectly positioned for the Karkonosze Mountains without dealing with the crowds in Karpacz or Szklarska Poręba. From this apartment, you can actually walk to some decent hiking trails (well, decent if you don’t mind a bit of uphill), and there’s a local bakery about two blocks away that does these incredible szarlotka that’ll ruin every other apple cake for you. The host clearly knows their stuff too – they left these handwritten notes about local spots that you’d never find on TripAdvisor. I mean, who else is going to tell you which bus actually runs on time or where to find the best pierogi without tourist markup? The check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that awkward hanging around the lobby waiting for someone to acknowledge you exist. And honestly, with a 9.8 rating, I was half-expecting to find some fatal flaw that previous guests had overlooked, but after three nights there, I get it – sometimes a place just works exactly like it should.
