APARTAMENT DWUPOZIOMOWY ZACHÓD SŁOŃCA – Kowary koło Karpacza
So I stumbled across this two-level apartment in Kowary – you know, that little town everyone passes through on their way to Karpacz – and honestly, it turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises you don’t expect. The name literally translates to “Two-Level Apartment Sunset,” which sounds a bit cheesy until you actually see why they called it that. The place sits on Tkaczy Street (second floor, by the way), and when that evening light hits the Sudeten Mountains in the distance… well, I get it now.
The apartment itself is refreshingly real – not one of those sterile hotel boxes where everything’s beige and forgettable. You’ve got actual living space spread across two floors, which means you can properly spread out if you’re staying more than a night or two. I mean, there’s something liberating about having a proper kitchen where you can make coffee without those terrible hotel pod machines, and upstairs feels genuinely separate from the main living area. The 7.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s solid without being fancy, and honestly that’s exactly what this area calls for. You’re here for the mountains and the hiking, not to spend all day admiring hotel amenities.
What really sold me on the location is how it positions you perfectly between the tourist chaos of Karpacz and the authentic Polish mountain town vibe. Kowary has this unpretentious thing going on – locals actually live here year-round, unlike some of the resort towns where everything shuts down between seasons. You can walk to actual shops and restaurants that aren’t just tourist traps, and parking (which is a nightmare in Karpacz during peak season) is actually manageable here. The Wang Church and all those Karpacz attractions are maybe fifteen minutes by car, but you come home to quiet streets where you can actually hear the mountain wind at night. Plus, if you’re into hiking – and let’s be honest, that’s probably why you’re considering this area – you’ve got trail access without fighting through crowds of day-trippers first thing in the morning. The apartment works especially well if you’re planning to explore both the Polish and Czech sides of the Sudetes, since you’re positioned right in that sweet spot where border crossings don’t eat up half your day.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
