The 9.8 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen; you feel it the moment you walk in.

The location is actually perfect if you want to understand Râmnicu Vâlcea beyond the tourist basics. You’re close enough to walk to the main pedestrian area (maybe 5-7 minutes), but tucked away on this quieter street where you won’t hear traffic all night. I loved that you could grab coffee and pastries from the little bakery around the corner in the morning – locals line up there, which is always a good sign. The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake. The kitchen actually works (I made coffee every morning), there’s proper counter space, and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that makes you want to stay in longer than you should. What really got me was the attention to small stuff – good lighting for reading, outlets where you actually need them, and windows that open wide to let in that mountain air from the nearby hills.

The whole area comes alive differently depending on when you visit. I was there in late spring, and honestly, the evenings were perfect for walking. You’ll notice how the locals use the nearby park – families with kids, couples taking evening strolls – and it gives you this sense of staying somewhere real rather than just passing through. The host clearly knows their stuff too; check-in was smooth, and they actually gave useful recommendations (not just the obvious tourist spots). If there’s one tiny critique, it’s that the building entrance is a bit nondescript – I walked past it twice the first day. But once you’re inside, everything makes sense. The value here is incredible for what you get, especially considering you’re getting apartment-style space and amenities. I’d definitely stay here again, and I’m already thinking about bringing my partner next time because there’s something about this place that just works.
