It’s tucked away in this quiet residential area called Jaszczurówka-Bory, which honestly sounds intimidating when you first see it on the map, but it’s actually perfect if you want to experience Zakopane without being right in the thick of tourist chaos. I mean, don’t get me wrong – you’re still close enough to walk into town, but there’s something really nice about coming back to this peaceful neighborhood after a day of dodging crowds on Krupówki Street.

The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort that you just don’t find in sterile hotel rooms. The owners, An and Mi (I’m guessing that’s where the name comes from), have clearly put thought into the little things that actually matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night. The kitchen is properly equipped – not just a mini-fridge and a hot plate situation – which was a lifesaver since we picked up some of those incredible oscypek cheeses from the local market and actually had a decent place to prepare them. The Wi-Fi works reliably too, which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in this part of Poland. What really impressed me was how quiet it gets at night; you’re far enough from the main roads that you don’t hear cars, but close enough that a quick walk gets you to decent restaurants and shops.

Here’s the thing about location that most people don’t realize until they’re there – being slightly outside Zakopane’s center is actually an advantage, especially if you’re planning to hit the trails early. You can get to some of the Tatras hiking routes without having to navigate through the town center first, and parking (which is absolutely brutal downtown during peak season) isn’t the nightmare it usually is. The 9-star rating makes total sense when you factor in the value – you’re getting apartment-style space and amenities for what you’d pay for a cramped hotel room closer to the action. Sure, it’s only rated as a 3-star place, but honestly, those ratings don’t always capture what travelers actually care about. The hosts are responsive without being intrusive, check-in was straightforward, and the whole experience just felt… normal, in the best possible way. If you’re the type who’d rather have a proper base to explore from instead of just a place to crash, this is exactly what you want.
