Apart-Sol Polyana Resort turned out to be a real gem for a mountain getaway in the Carpathians! Located right on Kurortna Street in Polyana, this four-star hotel is very convenient — just a few minutes’ walk from the main road, but still quiet (at least in our second-floor room). Parking is free, which is a real plus, especially after the long drive from Kyiv. Check-in was quick, the staff is friendly and speaks Ukrainian, creating a homey atmosphere.
The apartment-style rooms are quite spacious, with a small kitchen — we made morning coffee and heated up food after our hikes. The furniture is a bit dated, but everything is clean and functional. The mountain view from the window is truly impressive, especially in the morning when the mist hasn’t cleared yet. Wi-Fi works reliably, which is important for those who can’t completely disconnect from work (like me). Hot water is available constantly, which isn’t always guaranteed in mountain hotels.
What I liked most was the location — literally 10 minutes on foot to the ski lifts, and there are tons of cafes and small shops around. In autumn (we were there in October) it’s incredibly beautiful, though the weather can be unpredictable — better bring warm clothes. The price-quality ratio is quite satisfactory, especially compared to more popular resorts. We’ll definitely return here again, maybe in winter for skiing.
