Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from Apart4Sleepers Sienkiewicza when I first booked it – the name sounds sort of corporate, you know? But walking up to 12 Sienkiewicza Street, I actually found myself pleasantly surprised. The location is pretty brilliant if you ask me, tucked right in the heart of Zakopane but on one of those quieter side streets that locals seem to prefer. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Krupówki (that’s the main pedestrian strip where all the tourist chaos happens), but when you step outside in the morning, it’s peaceful enough that you can actually hear birds instead of just crowds and car horns.
The apartments themselves – well, they get why people come to Zakopane. I mean, sure, you could stay in one of those massive resort hotels up the mountain, but there’s something refreshing about having your own space with a proper kitchen when you want to grab some oscypek cheese from the market and just chill for an evening. The rooms are clean and modern without being sterile, if that makes sense. What really got me was the attention to small stuff – decent coffee setup, blackout curtains that actually work (trust me, summer mornings here start early), and surprisingly good water pressure. The WiFi’s solid too, which matters more than I’d like to admit when you’re trying to upload all those Tatra Mountain photos.
You know what really sets this place apart though? The staff actually knows Zakopane. Not just the obvious tourist spots, but they’ll tell you which trails are less crowded on weekends, or that little pierogi place on Nowotarska that doesn’t look like much from outside but serves the best ruskie in town. Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of Zakopane – the streets are narrow and fill up fast during peak season – but they’ve got it sorted with designated spots. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too; none of that overly formal hotel lobby experience, just genuine people who seem to care whether you have a good time. I stayed here twice actually, once in summer hiking season and again during the Christmas market madness, and both times it felt like coming back to a place that gets what travelers actually need rather than what some corporate manual says they should want.
