I mean, “royal apartment” sounds pretty grand for a 3-star place on Makuszyńskiego street, but the reality is much more charming and down-to-earth. This isn’t some stuffy palace wannabe – it’s more like staying in a really well-kept local apartment that someone actually cares about maintaining.

The location is pretty solid if you know Zakopane at all. Makuszyńskiego isn’t right in the tourist madness of Krupówki (which, let’s be honest, can get overwhelming during peak season), but you’re still close enough to walk to the main drag without your legs giving out. I actually prefer this spot because you get a bit of breathing room from the crowds, especially in the evenings when all the day-trippers head back down the mountain. The street itself is quiet enough that you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM, but you’re not stuck way out in the middle of nowhere either. Parking was surprisingly manageable too – and if you’ve ever tried to park near the center of Zakopane in summer, you know that’s basically a miracle.

What really impressed me was how the place felt lived-in rather than sterile. The apartment setup means you get actual space to spread out, which is huge if you’re staying more than a night or two.
