You know what struck me first about Apart B&V? It’s one of those places that completely defies its modest 3-star rating – honestly, I’ve stayed in supposedly fancier hotels that didn’t come close to this level of thoughtfulness. The location on Strada Zaharia Stancu might not mean much if you’re not familiar with Brașov, but it’s actually perfect – tucked away in a residential area that feels authentically Romanian, yet you’re still close enough to walk to the old town without your feet screaming at you.
The apartment setup is what really sets this place apart, and I mean that in the best possible way. These aren’t your typical cramped hotel rooms with a sad little kettle in the corner. The owners – and I’m pretty sure they’re the B&V in the name – have clearly put real thought into how people actually live when they travel. The kitchen actually has proper pots and pans (not those flimsy things that barely heat water), and there’s enough fridge space for more than just a bottle of wine. I found myself cooking breakfast most mornings, partly because the local market on Decebal Boulevard has incredible fresh produce, but mostly because the space just invited that kind of relaxed routine. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout – I worked from the little dining table several days without any issues, which honestly surprised me given how many “excellent Wi-Fi” promises turn out to be optimistic at best.
What really impressed me was the attention to details that matter but often get overlooked. The shower has proper water pressure (you’d be amazed how rare this is), the beds are actually comfortable rather than just looking nice, and – this might sound weird – but the blackout curtains actually work. I’m someone who needs proper darkness to sleep, and these kept out even the streetlights from the nearby intersection. The building itself is quiet too; you’re not dealing with paper-thin walls or neighbors who apparently move furniture at 2 AM. Parking was straightforward, which in Brașov is honestly a minor miracle – there’s a spot right in front of the building, and the owners were super clear about the whole process during check-in. Speaking of which, that 9.9 rating starts making sense when you realize how smoothly everything runs. They actually answer their phone, respond to messages quickly, and seem genuinely interested in making sure you’re comfortable rather than just checking boxes on some hospitality checklist. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned – not because there’s nowhere else to go, but because you genuinely don’t want to leave.
