The studio setup is actually perfect if you’re planning to stay in Brașov for more than just a quick weekend. I mean, having a kitchenette changes everything – you can grab fresh bread from the bakery down the street (there’s this little place about two blocks away that locals line up at every morning) and actually make yourself a proper breakfast instead of hunting for overpriced hotel food. The furnishings are clean and functional, nothing fancy but everything works. The wifi is solid, which honestly matters more than marble bathrooms when you’re trying to upload photos of the mountains. What really surprised me was how quiet it gets at night – Lunga Street doesn’t get the tourist foot traffic, so you’re not dealing with drunk groups stumbling back from the Old Town at 2 AM.
The location is one of those things that looks inconvenient on paper but works brilliantly in practice. You’re maybe a 15-minute walk from the main square, but it’s actually a pleasant walk through residential streets where you see how people really live here. Plus, there’s a bus stop practically at the corner if you don’t feel like walking, and parking (if you’ve got a car) is infinitely easier than anywhere closer to the center. The staff seems to actually care about the place – they remembered my name after the first day and gave me solid recommendations for hiking trails that weren’t just the obvious touristy ones. During my stay in late spring, the place was maybe half full, so it had this relaxed atmosphere where you could actually have a conversation with other guests instead of fighting for space in crowded common areas. The cleaning was thorough without being intrusive, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling or lengthy presentations about amenities they don’t have. For what you pay, especially compared to the boutique places in the Old Town that charge double for half the space, it’s honestly a steal.
